Applying is surprisingly simple with the free guidance and expertise of the Across the Pond team.
In order to apply to our partner UK colleges and universities, fill out the enquiry form on this page and one of our student advisors will get in touch and assist you with any next steps.
Whether you have a question about studying in the UK, would like more information on specific universities or programs, or are ready to start the application process, we can help!
In order to complete your application, you will need one letter of recommendation if you are an undergraduate student. The UCAS undergraduate application has very specific formatting requirements, so we can offer guidance to help ensure the letter is structured clearly and appropriately. If you are a graduate student, two letters of recommendation is usually required. We can help your referee with what to write.
An official transcript of your current/most recent grades will also be required from your current or most recent place of education.
Each university will expect a personal statement of approximately 500 words to be submitted. Your Across the Pond advisor will provide you with detailed guidelines on how to write the perfect statement and provide you with feedback to ensure it meets the criteria British universities expect.
Typically, there are relatively few application deadlines when you apply through Across the Pond to most of the courses our universities offer. You can apply almost right up to the start of your studies, regardless of what others may say. The only notable exceptions are dental, veterinary, and medical studies, which have an application deadline in October of the year before you start your studies. Some master's programs also have different application deadlines, and these will vary from subject to subject and from university to university. You can apply for all other subjects at almost any time, but remember that the earlier you apply, the greater the chances of getting in!
Across the Pond can only actively help with your applications to our partner universities. It's worth noting that applying is completely non-binding and never costs more than the application fee. For undergraduates, this will be the UCAS application fee. At the master's level, a few select applications require a fee to process the application, and these are often approximately £50-60, but the majority of applications have no fee.
Some universities require a deposit for you to secure your place, but this primarily applies at master's level. Up until the start of your studies, you can change your mind at any time and you will not be bound to anything (other than the fact that you may not get the deposit back at master's level). So it is well worth applying, even if you are not 100% sure if you want to study in the UK.
We will walk you through every step and help you with everything you need to know about and consider in order to study in the UK. Contact one of our student advisors and start your next academic adventure!
